Overview

The Security Guard will monitor traffic flow through security gate onto premises. Check Employees, Contractors, and Guests in and out as they enter/exit the facility. Responsible for supervising, training, and directing duties of contract guards daily.

Responsibilities

  • Guard entrance gate of industrial plant and grounds, warehouse, or other property to control traffic to and from buildings and grounds.
  • Open gates to allow entrance or exit of employees, truckers, and authorized visitors. Responsible for verifying inbound and outbound documentation is correct and filing of the paperwork.
  • Guide visitors and truckers to various parts of grounds or buildings.
  • Check credentials or approved roster before admitting anyone.
  • Inspect outgoing traffic to prevent unauthorized removal of company property or products.
  • Responsible for supervising, training, and directing duties of contract guards daily.
  • Creation and implementation of new procedures, directed by management.
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities

  • Clerical ability to document information.
  • Knowledge of basic communication devices, such as telephone and radio.

Demonstrated Competencies

  • Ability to follow direction and make sound decisions when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, as necessary.
  • Must have regular and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to maintain alertness while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

Experience:  Minimum of 2 years of prior security experience is preferred.
Education:  High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
